    Beginners classes- Update

Come for beginners yoga classes at the Center for Integrative Bodywork in Sycamore -   Sunday eves - 7:30 pm    I am still offering the Special Introductory Price of $50.00 for 4 classes  through February 15th for new students  (that’s just $12.50 per class!).    Even though we have already started up the classes, you can join in at any time - it’s so easy to do!  Our daily practice themes help you establish a home practice so that you can keep the openings you get in class.  It’s not to late to start up a healthy habit.  Empower yourself  by cultivating a home practice so that you can experience deeper results in progressive classes.  You’ll delve deep inside to experience the bliss of  inner healings  that extinguish aches and pains.    Yoga only works when you do it… it’s worth a try!  Come and see the difference in you.

It helps me to know of your intention to attend the classes so I can plan to have enough props on hand.    Please register  with Jen at  815-895-8159.                        Namaste,  Lataa   (Jennifer)

    How is Svaroopa Yoga different?

Svaroopa (R) Yoga is an easy, gentle, safe and surprisingly effective form of Hatha Yoga.  The practice focuses on releasing and unraveling tensions deep in the spine through postures (asana), breath work (pranayama) and guided relaxation.  Everyone can benefit from deep relaxation especially during the hectic holiday season!    Svaroopa(R) Yoga excels at releasing physical, mental and emotional tensions.   There are many benefits to the practice..including improved flexibility, circulation, digestion and immune functions.   The classes are designed specifically to open you up to new possibilities from the inside-out.  These classes are appropriate for beginners as well as advanced yoga practitioners.   The approach is different than other styles of yoga you may already be familiar with.     Come to your first class with an open mind, and experience it for yourself.   It’s worth the time and effort to empower and honor yourself by dedicating time to learn self care.      Check the website tabs for class times, descriptions and Private Yoga Therapy sessions.    - Gift Certificates available -     Happy Holidays!     Lataa

    Afterglow…

The Chicago Siddha Yoga Meditation group came to DeKalb this past Sunday for an evening of Chanting and Meditation.  It was wonderful!   Our chants were accompanied by percussion and harmonium as we chanted to prepare for a very deep and delicious meditation session.  Swami Chidvilasananda (via audio recording) led us into mediation.  After the meditation session we enjoyed prasad (a sweet treat) before we gathered together for a delicious potluck celebration.    It was great to hear stories from members who actually met Muktananda and followed him for years.  I look forward to participating in this meditation group again soon….and I hope you’ll join in next time.

Isn’t it amazing that even amongst people we would consider “strangers”  there is a threshold of comfort when like-minded people gather together?  It is true… We Are One….   Try looking into the eyes of others and see for yourself!    Namaste,   Lataa

    Peace Quote - Rumi

Those who don’t feel this Love
    pulling them like a river,
    those who don’t drink dawn
like a cup of spring water
or take in sunset like supper,
those who don’t want to change,
    let them sleep.
This Love is beyond the study of theology,
    that old trickery and hypocrisy.
If you want to improve your mind that way,
    sleep on.
I’ve given up on my brain.
I’ve torn the cloth to shreds
    and thrown it away.
    If you’re not completely naked,
wrap your beautiful robe of words
    around you,
    and sleep.
    - Rumi
